What’s been happening in the world of Wendy Wanderlust
What a whirlwind it’s been since we released the first book, Wendy Wanderlust wakes up in Cavo Greco. It’s been incredible hearing from so many of you who have loved the book and the message behind it. Your amazing feedback has inspired me to dive headfirst into this new chapter.
After my time as a partnerships executive for Intrepid, I’ve decided to focus full-time on Wendy Wanderlust. During my time at Intrepid, I gained invaluable knowledge about responsible travel and the importance of respecting and benefitting local communities, cultures, economies and the environment. This experience has deeply influenced me, and I’m eager to weave these principles into more Wendy Wanderlust stories, making them both fun and meaningful for young readers.
Leaving my full-time job also means I’m no longer bound to London. I’ve made the move back up to Staffordshire, at least for now, to enjoy a quieter, slower pace of life and spend more time in nature and working on Wendy Wanderlust stories. It’s a big change, but one I’m very excited about.
It’s a bittersweet goodbye, as I loved my time in London, and even found inspiration for Wendy’s next adventure while living there. When I moved to the city, I began shopping in local charity shops and have now almost entirely stopped buying from the high street. In the upcoming book, Wendy wakes up in Brick Lane, Wendy travels back in time and learns all about sustainable fashion. Teaching children the importance of recycling and upcycling clothes is crucial, and I can’t wait to share this story. Plus, we’re partnering with a second-hand clothing charity in the UK for this release.
Recently, I participated in the Love the Earth Festival, hosted by Let’s Make Cyprus Green, who partnered with us for the first Wendy book. The festival was a delightful day filled with activities for all ages: connecting with local organisations to learn about their inspiring initiatives, exploring stalls showcasing environmentally friendly products and participating in clothing swaps and upcycling workshops. Copies of Wendy Wanderlust wakes up in Cavo Greco were available at the festival and it was an honour to be a part of such a meaningful day.
This summer, I’m excited to bring Wendy Wanderlust events to Staffordshire. We already have some events lined up at Hockerhill Adventure Playbarn in Brewood, so keep an eye on Wendy’s social media for dates and details. If you have a space or want to collaborate on an event like story time or arts and crafts, please get in touch – I’d love to hear from you.
Keep an eye out for the release date of Wendy Wanderlust wakes up in Brick Lane – I can’t wait to share Wendy’s next adventure with you! Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm.
